Modified T-Stenting Technique with Crushing Using Paclitaxel-Eluting Stents
نویسنده
چکیده
L esions located at coronary artery bifurcations represent one of the challenging areas in interventional cardiology. The use of coronary stents has resulted in a higher angiographic success rate compared to balloon angioplasty. Angiographic restenosis rates nevertheless remain high for the various techniques that employ bare metal stents. Although the advent of drug-eluting stents (DES) holds promise for preventing restenosis, the optimal technique for treating coronary bifurcations is as yet unknown.

Randomized study of the crush technique versus provisional side-branch stenting in true coronary bifurcations: the CACTUS (Coronary Bifurcations: Application of the Crushing Technique Using Sirolimus-Eluting Stents) Study.
BACKGROUND Sirolimus-eluting stents have been reported to be effective in the treatment of coronary bifurcations. Still, it has not been fully clarified which strategy would provide the best results with true bifurcation lesions. METHODS AND RESULTS The CACTUS trial (Coronary bifurcations: Application of the Crushing Technique Using Sirolimus-eluting stents) is a prospective, randomized, mult...

Report of bench testing and first clinical Italian-Korean two-centre experience.
OBJECTIVES To describe a novel modification of the T-stenting technique and to report the bench test as well as the first clinical results obtained. BACKGROUND The best technique to treat bifurcated coronary lesions has not been defined. METHODS This novel modification of the T-stenting technique is based, after stenting of the main vessel (MV) and kissing balloon, on the intentional minima...
متن کاملComparison of bare metal stent and paclitaxel-eluting stent using a novel rat aorta stent model
The purpose of our study was to create a novel rat aorta stent implantation model. Stainless steel bare metal stents (BMS) or paclitaxel-eluting stents (PES) were implanted in male Sprague-Dawley rats (BW 400 ± 20 g). Two and four weeks after stent implantation, the aorta were collected, fixed with 2% glutaraldehyde, and cut into two segments. One segment was used for scanning electron microsco...
متن کاملCulotte bifurcation stenting with paclitaxel drug-eluting stent.
The results of using the culotte bifurcation technique have not been promising with regard to bare metal stents; however, some possible advantages with regard to drug-eluting stents (DES) must be taken into account, such as the possibility to stent provisionally, to use lower French sizes, and to completely cover the coronary wall and the new carina with a single or double stent layer. The crus...
متن کاملBare metal stent versus paclitaxel eluting stent for intermediate length femoropopliteal arterial lesions (BATTLE trial): study protocol for a randomized controlled trial
BACKGROUND Currently, endovascular treatment is indicated to treat femoropopliteal lesions ≤15 cm. However, the Achilles' heel of femoropopliteal endovascular repair remains restenosis. Paclitaxel eluting stents have shown promising results to prevent restenosis in femoropopliteal lesions compared to percutaneous transluminal angioplasty. A recently released prospective registry using a newer g...
